Pardes Summer Curriculum Workshop for Judaic Studies Day School Teachers
Jerusalem , Tuesday, July 15- Tuesday, July 29, 2008
The Pardes Summer Curriculum Workshop in Jerusalem for Novice Day School Teachers (1-5 years experience) has opened registration for July, 2008. The program is for Judaic Studies teachers grades 4-high school (tracks for upper elementary, middle, and high school) in Community, Reform, Conservative and Orthodox day schools. The program includes individualized Beit Midrash time to prepare a curricular unit(s) for your teaching next year, Torah lishma, pedagogy workshops, collegial sharing sessions, field trips and other special programs. Participants receive a scholarship to cover the entire workshop, housing/living stipend for 15 days, lunch or dinner most days, and all educational materials. Schools generally pay most or all of the airfare, although there is money available for travel subsidies.
This is largely funded by a generous grant from the Mandell L. and Madeleine H. Berman Foundation

About Rabbi Schweiger
Meir Schweiger is a rabbi and the Mashgiach Ruchani (spiritual guide) of the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem. He has been a full-time teacher there for the last 29 years, teaching Chumash, Mishna, Talmud, and Halacha. He is a dynamic and inspiring speaker, known for his keen and profound insights into the text. Meir has a BA in mathematics and physics from City College in New York. He did his advanced Jewish studies at Yeshiva University, Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh, and Yeshivat Har Etzion, receiving ordination from Rabbi Zalman Nehemiah Goldberg of Jerusalem. Meir served in the IDF as a combat medic. He has 9 children and lives in Efrat.
